A Vector-Based Mapping in GIS Environment to Classify Local Climate Zone

Local climate zones (LCZ), which are widely used in urban heat island studies, include climate-based classification of the city to determine climatic differences metropolitan area. Therefore, mapping methods have been developed visualise LCZ classes. Compared raster-based method, vector-based makes a more precise and accurate evaluation, is not due difficulty creating obtaining dataset. This study aims implement GIS-based approach map example Adana City, Turkey. The method consists five steps: a) determination criteria; b) each criteria via Arc-GIS; c) creation decision tree for map; d) overlapping line with tree; e) development suggestions findings. Vector-based has minimised mistakes that may arise from resolution enabled highly map. obtained expected be base studies on guide decision-makers.
